Code of Ethics

Please note that all attendees must adhere to the OBS code of ethics. In particular, incidents of dogs off leash, fires outside of fire rings, and pads stashed in view of trails can and do cause issues with Sites and Trails BC. More information can be found on our ethics and etiquette page.

  1. Stay on trails and respect the infrastructure of bouldering areas

  2. Keep dogs on leash at all times

  3. Clean up and pack out all trash

  4. Do not cut down trees or vegetation

  5. Do not throw rocks off cliffs

  6. Use provided toilets or remove all human and dog waste

  7. Do not have fires outside provided campground fire rings (no fires in the climbing area)

  8. Do not alter rock on established climbs (gluing, chipping, etc)

  9. Do not alter areas on or around established boulders (digging out starts, moving rocks, cutting vegetation, etc)

  10. Practice minimal sprawl when at boulders (spreading gear and pads everywhere around a boulder is unnecessary, difficult for others to move around, and can damage vegetation)

  11. Be aware of your sound imprint (be aware that people may not want to hear your music, loud voices, and may not want beta sprayed at them)

  12. Brush your tick marks

  13. Pad stashing is not recommended and is at your own risk (do not stashing pads under established boulders or in view of trails)
